1. Introduction

Kadim is a prediction market built for the African continent. It allows anyone with an internet connection to trade on the outcomes of real-world events — elections, economic indicators, sporting fixtures, cultural milestones. Prices are set by the market; settlement is transparent.

2. The problem

Traditional financial instruments offer limited ways to hedge or express views on the events that actually shape African lives. Global prediction markets exist, but they are poorly localised, thinly traded on African questions, and often inaccessible to the users who care most about the outcomes.

3. The Kadim approach

Kadim lists markets that matter locally, settles them on-chain, and prices them by open order flow. Every trade on the platform generates a small fee. That fee is not captured by a central treasury — it is routed back into the ecosystem through $KAD.

4. Market mechanics

Each market is a binary outcome contract. Users buy YES or NO shares. The price of a YES share reflects the market's implied probability of the event occurring. When the event resolves, winning shares redeem for $1, losing shares for $0.

5. Fee structure

Kadim charges a flat 0.1% fee on all trade volume. Fees are denominated in $KAD and routed as follows:

6. Why $KAD for gas

All gas fees on Kadim are paid in $KAD. This creates a baseline, recurring demand for the token that scales directly with platform usage. It also aligns every participant — traders, stakers, and the protocol — around the same asset.

7. Staking

Users stake $KAD to earn a share of platform fees. Rewards accrue continuously and can be claimed at any time. The staker's share of the fee pool is calculated as:

your share = (your stake ÷ total staked) × (20% of fees)

8. Governance

Market listings, fee parameters, and protocol upgrades are governed by $KAD holders through on-chain proposals. Details will be published in a future governance paper.
